Union Minister and BJP leader G Kishan Reddy on Sunday launched a sharp attack on AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi and his party, responding to recent remarks made by Owaisi.

Addressing the media, G Kishan Reddy accused the Owaisi brothers of issuing threats and attempting to create unnecessary fear. “AIMIM leaders, the Owaisi brothers, have started threatening. I want to ask the Owaisi brothers that people are not scared of their threats,” he said.

Reacting specifically to Asaduddin Owaisi’s statement that a hijab-wearing woman could become the Prime Minister of India, the Union Minister questioned the intent behind the remark. “Asaduddin Owaisi says that a hijab-wearing woman can be a PM of India. Does he go to Pakistan and demand that a Hindu should be made the Prime Minister of Pakistan?” Reddy asked.

Emphasising India’s democratic values, G Kishan Reddy said the country has always upheld equality and constitutional rights for all citizens, irrespective of religion. “India is a democracy where everyone has equal rights. Dr APJ Abdul Kalam, who belonged to a minority community, became the President of India. That itself shows the strength of our democracy,” he added.

The exchange reflects the continuing political sparring between the BJP and the AIMIM in Telangana, particularly on issues related to religion, secularism, and constitutional values, as political temperatures remain high ahead of upcoming electoral contests.
