Telangana BJP Slams Govt Over Electrocution Deaths, Demands Compensation & Jobs for Families

Hyderabad: Telangana BJP President N Ramchander Rao on Saturday met the families of those who lost their lives due to electrocution and strongly criticized the state government for negligence.

Rao alleged that despite repeated warnings from the BJP regarding the dangers of open manholes and exposed electric wires, the government failed to take preventive action. “BJP has been warning the government of the casualties that might occur due to open manholes and open wires. In spite of this, the government did not take any precautions, and hence the government is entirely responsible,” he said.

He further demanded that the government extend adequate compensation to the bereaved families and provide a government job to at least one family member of each victim. “It should make sure that such incidents must not happen and adequate compensation be given to each family along with a job,” Rao emphasized.

The Telangana BJP chief called for urgent action to prevent further tragedies, urging authorities to fix faulty electrical systems, cover open manholes, and ensure accountability from civic bodies. He added that the recurring incidents highlight a serious lapse in urban safety and governance, which must be addressed immediately.

The deaths have triggered outrage among citizens, with the opposition holding the ruling government responsible for civic negligence. The BJP has pledged to continue pressing for justice for the victims’ families and for systemic reforms to ensure public safety.
