Telangana BJP OBC Morcha Protests Over Unfulfilled BC Reservation Promise

Hyderabad, Telangana — The Telangana BJP OBC Morcha staged a protest outside the Hyderabad Collector’s office today, demanding immediate implementation of the Backward Classes (BC) Declaration promised by the Congress party. The protest highlights ongoing dissatisfaction with the state government’s handling of BC reservations in local bodies.

The Backward Classes (BC) Declaration, made by the Congress party, had pledged to increase BC reservations in local bodies from the current 23% to 42% within six months of assuming power. However, the BJP’s OBC Morcha claims that this promise has not been fulfilled, leading to today’s demonstration.

Protesters gathered at the Collector’s office to voice their frustration, holding banners and chanting slogans in support of their demands. The BJP OBC Morcha accused the Telangana government of failing to honor its commitment, which they argue is crucial for ensuring fair representation and opportunities for the Backward Classes.

The protest underscores the ongoing tension between the BJP and the ruling Congress party over issues of social justice and reservation policies. The BJP has positioned itself as a staunch advocate for the rights of the Backward Classes, using the BC Declaration as a key point of contention in its criticism of the state government.

In response to the protest, BJP leaders have called on the Telangana government to take immediate action and fulfill the promises made in the BC Declaration. They argue that the delay in implementing these changes not only undermines the government’s credibility but also adversely affects the Backward Classes who are awaiting increased representation and benefits.

The Telangana government has yet to issue an official response to the protest, but the demonstration reflects broader political and social debates regarding reservation policies and the effectiveness of political promises. As the situation develops, the BJP’s call for action is likely to continue to influence discussions around BC reservations and government accountability.
