Telangana BJP Mahila Morcha Rallies for ASHA Workers’ Rights Amid Salary Dispute

Hyderabad, Telangana – In a significant display of support, the Telangana BJP Mahila Morcha took to the streets in protest outside the Directorate Of Medical Education (DME) Office in Koti, Hyderabad. The demonstration was organized to voice solidarity with ASHA workers who have reportedly been deprived of their salaries.

ASHA workers, integral to India’s public health system, especially in rural and remote areas, are facing financial hardships due to alleged non-payment of wages. The BJP Mahila Morcha’s protest highlighted the critical situation of these frontline workers who have tirelessly served communities, often acting as the first point of contact in the healthcare system.

The protestors, comprising women from various walks of life, gathered with placards and slogans demanding justice for the ASHA workers. They alleged that despite their hard work and dedication, especially noticeable during the pandemic, the ASHA workers’ financial compensation has been delayed or withheld.

The demonstration aimed not only to shed light on the immediate issue of unpaid salaries but also to call for broader recognition and respect for the contributions of ASHA workers. The Telangana BJP Mahila Morcha urged the state government and relevant authorities to take swift action to ensure that these healthcare workers are compensated fairly and promptly.

As the protest gained momentum, it drew attention from various sectors of society, prompting discussions on the treatment of healthcare workers and the need for systemic changes to prevent such issues in the future.

The DME office has yet to respond to the allegations and demands made by the protestors. The situation remains tense as ASHA workers await a resolution that will alleviate their financial distress and acknowledge their invaluable service to the nation’s health sector.
