Hyderabad, In a significant development, the Secunderabad Railway Station is poised to undergo a remarkable transformation, thanks to an extensive project backed by a substantial investment of Rs 715 crores from the Central Government. Union Minister and Telangana BJP President, G. Kishan Reddy, expressed his satisfaction with the ongoing progress during a recent inspection of the station.
A Vision for Modernization
The redevelopment of Secunderabad Railway Station aims to elevate it to international standards, akin to an airport. With an estimated value of approximately Rs 700 crore, this ambitious reconstruction project is set to redefine the travel experience for passengers.

Airport-Like Amenities: The revamped station will feature state-of-the-art facilities, mirroring the convenience and comfort found in modern airports. From spacious waiting areas to efficient security measures, passengers can expect a seamless journey.
Challenges Overcome: Despite the constraints of construction within a confined space, Reddy assured that the development work is progressing rapidly. Train services and passengers remain unaffected, demonstrating meticulous planning and execution.
Elevators and Escalators: As part of the ongoing construction, 26 lifts and 38 escalators are being installed. These additions will enhance accessibility and ease the movement of passengers within the station premises.

Additionally, modernization works are underway at the Kazipet Railway Station, while the Ghatkesar-Yadadri MMTS line nears completion.

The inauguration of the Cherlapally New Terminal is imminent, further enhancing connectivity. Additionally, a new railway station at Komuravelli, catering to devotees visiting Lord Komuravelli Mallanna, will soon see its foundation stone laid in February. Furthermore, the demand for Vande Bharat trains originating from Secunderabad has prompted a request for two more trains from the Union Railway Minister.
