New Delhi – Prime Minister Narendra Modi today embarked on his third term in office, following a grand swearing-in ceremony in the nation’s capital.
In his first act after assuming office, PM Modi signed a file authorising the release of the 17th instalment of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) scheme. This move is set to benefit approximately 9.3 crore farmers across India, with a total fund disbursement of around Rs 20,000 crores.
The PM-KISAN scheme, a flagship initiative of the central government, aims to provide income support to all farmer families across the country. The scheme is designed to aid farmers in procuring various inputs related to agriculture and allied activities, thereby supplementing their financial needs.
By prioritising the PM-KISAN scheme as his first official action, PM Modi has sent a clear signal about the importance his government places on the agricultural sector and the welfare of the nation’s farmers.
