Prime Minister Narendra Modi has announced that his popular monthly radio programme, ‘Mann Ki Baat’, will resume on June 30. The programme had been paused in light of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, with the last episode airing on February 25.
In a social media post, PM Modi shared his excitement about the return of ‘Mann Ki Baat’ and encouraged citizens to share their thoughts and ideas for the upcoming broadcast. “Delighted to share that after a gap of some months due to the elections, #MannKiBaat is back! This month’s programme will take place on Sunday, 30th June. I call upon all of you to share your ideas and inputs for the same. Write on the MyGov Open Forum, NaMo App, or record your message on 1800 11 7800,” the Prime Minister announced.
‘Mann Ki Baat’ was temporarily halted to adhere to the Election Commission’s guidelines during the Lok Sabha elections. In the 110th edition of the programme, PM Modi stated, “Mann Ki Baat will not be broadcast for the next three months in view of the upcoming Lok Sabha polls.”
The 2024 Lok Sabha elections, held in seven phases from April 19 to June 1, concluded with the declaration of results on June 4, leading to the formation of the 18th Lok Sabha.
Since its inception on October 3, 2014, ‘Mann Ki Baat’ has served as a platform for PM Modi to address the nation on a variety of significant issues, fostering a sense of direct communication with the public. The programme aims to engage with diverse segments of Indian society, including women, the elderly, and the youth, discussing important national themes and highlighting individual stories of inspiration and achievement.
The resumption of ‘Mann Ki Baat’ signifies a return to this vital channel of communication, allowing citizens to voice their opinions and contribute to national discourse. By inviting public participation through the MyGov Open Forum, NaMo App, and a dedicated toll-free number, PM Modi continues to emphasize the importance of inclusive governance and citizen involvement in policy-making.
The announcement of ‘Mann Ki Baat’s return has been met with widespread anticipation, as the programme has become a crucial platform for the Prime Minister to share his vision, celebrate India’s achievements, and address pressing issues facing the country.
As the date approaches, citizens are encouraged to actively participate and share their thoughts, ensuring that ‘Mann Ki Baat’ remains a true reflection of the aspirations and concerns of the Indian populace. This initiative underscores PM Modi’s commitment to maintaining an open dialogue with the people, reinforcing the democratic values that are the cornerstone of India’s governance.
