Union Minister G. Kishan Reddy announced that the Centre will celebrate Hyderabad Liberation Day with a large-scale event this year, marking the third consecutive year of official commemorations under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah.
Reddy criticised the Congress and BRS, alleging that “because of vote bank politics, Congress and BRS never celebrated Hyderabad Liberation Day in this area.” He added that during the ‘Azaadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’, the Prime Minister and Home Minister decided to hold this celebration annually to honour the historical significance of Hyderabad’s liberation.
Highlighting the scale of the 2025 event, Reddy said, “This year, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh is going to participate in this, and it is going to be a big event. We have started a digital museum through which people of Telangana can watch the event through their phones from home. Almost 1,000 artists and paramilitary troops are going to participate. Villagers will also hoist the Tiranga in their villages.”
The celebration aims to instill patriotism and historical awareness, ensuring the legacy of Hyderabad’s integration into India remains alive for future generations.
