Hyderabad: Rajya Sabha MP and BJP OBC Morcha National President Dr. K. Laxman on Thursday strongly criticised the Telangana government, alleging betrayal of the state’s OBC community. Speaking to the media, he said the promises made by the Congress leadership ahead of the Telangana Assembly elections have turned out to be “nothing but deception.”
Dr. Laxman said that before the elections, the Congress party had assured a 42% reservation for OBCs, raising hopes among marginalized communities. “Today, forget 42% reservation, even the existing 17% reservation is not being provided,” he said, accusing the government of failing to honour its commitments.
He further targeted Chief Minister Revanth Reddy and senior Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, saying they were promoting the “so-called Telangana model” across the country, despite what he termed as its failure on the ground. “This announcement was made only keeping the Bihar elections in mind,” Dr. Laxman alleged.
Asserting that the OBC community feels deeply let down, he added, “Today, the entire OBC community in Telangana stands against this government. In the coming times, they will definitely teach them a lesson.”
Dr. Laxman reiterated that the BJP would continue to stand with OBC communities and hold the Congress government accountable for its promises.
