BJP Slams Congress After Bhai Jagtap’s ‘Kutta’ Remark, Calls Party a Threat to Democracy

BJP national spokesperson CR Kesavan has strongly condemned Congress leader Bhai Jagtap’s recent derogatory remarks about the Election Commission, calling it part of the party’s ongoing attacks on constitutional institutions. Kesavan accused Congress of being “failed and frustrated” while character assassinating key democratic pillars and creating a “dangerous threat” to India’s democracy.

Jagtap, during a Congress Working Committee (CWC) meeting, referred to the Election Commission in derogatory terms, calling it a “kutta” (dog). The remark has drawn widespread backlash, with critics accusing Congress of undermining the credibility of the Election Commission, which plays a critical role in ensuring free and fair elections in India.

Kesavan responded to the remarks, stating, “The failed and frustrated Congress Party, which is maliciously character assassinating our Constitutional institutions, poses a very dangerous threat to our nation and democracy.” He emphasized that such insults reflect a deeper issue within the Congress Party, which, according to Kesavan, has long been associated with electoral malpractices.

The BJP leader also took aim at the recent resolution passed by the Congress Working Committee (CWC), calling it a “mockery” and “deplorable.” Kesavan accused Congress of trying to undermine democratic institutions and questioned the party’s motives.

Kesavan also referenced Congress President’s upcoming participation in an “EVM hatao” rally, organized by the opposition party. The rally is part of the party’s ongoing protest against the Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) system, which they claim is prone to tampering. However, Kesavan sarcastically suggested that Congress would be better served by focusing on its internal issues. “They should participate in a ‘Gandhi Parivar hatao rally’ instead,” he said, pointing to the ongoing leadership issues within the Congress party, especially regarding the Gandhi family’s dominance.

Further criticizing the party, Kesavan added, “The Congress Party has been exposed because the people of the country know the Congress Party never cares about the nation.” He claimed that Congress was only interested in political survival rather than the welfare of the country, accusing them of continuously undermining the nation’s progress.

The BJP’s sharp critique comes at a time when the Congress Party is already grappling with accusations of corruption and misgovernance. The incident with Bhai Jagtap’s remarks has intensified the already growing political tension between the Congress and the BJP. Both parties are positioning themselves for the upcoming elections, with each seeking to rally support among voters through aggressive political messaging.

As the controversy surrounding Jagtap’s remarks continues to unfold, both the Congress and the BJP are likely to escalate their attacks on each other, further polarizing the political discourse in the country.
