Hyderabad: BJP MP Konda Vishweshwar Reddy has responded to AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi’s recent statements, asserting that the BJP government, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, is focused on the upliftment of the Muslim community, particularly Muslim women.
“The Muslim community has been downtrodden. PM Modi has put special focus on uplifting the Muslim folks and especially the Muslim women,” Reddy said, highlighting the government’s efforts to improve the living standards of marginalized Muslim populations.
Reddy further criticized certain Muslim leaders, accusing them of using the community as a vote bank rather than focusing on its development. He expressed that the BJP aims to break this cycle and empower the Muslim community for their own progress.
“We are targeting to ensure the development of the Muslims who are being suppressed, unfortunately, by leaders in their own community who want to use Muslims as a vote bank. We want to unshackle the poor and depressed Muslims from the vote bank politics and focus them towards development,” Reddy stated.
The BJP MP also addressed concerns regarding the Waqf Board, suggesting that Muslim leaders were losing control over its management and properties, which, according to him, would now directly benefit the community.
“They (Muslim leaders) are losing control of the Waqf Board and its properties. And that is their problem, that the benefits of this will directly go to the Muslims,” he concluded.
