BJP MP and National President of the BJP OBC Morcha, K Laxman, launched a scathing attack on the Congress party over issues related to the Other Backward Classes (OBC) community.
Laxman accused the BRS in Telangana of looting the state and alleged corruption in the name of the Kaleshwaram project. He stated that the matter is currently under investigation.
The BJP leader questioned the Congress party’s commitment to the OBC community. “I want to ask Rahul Gandhi, when your party was in power (in Centre), why didn’t it give constitutional status to the National Commission for Backward Classes?” Laxman asked.
He further highlighted that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has included 27 people from the OBC community in the cabinet, a move not mirrored by the Congress during their tenure. “They are talking about OBCs today when elections have come. Congress was in power for many years, so why didn’t it conduct a caste census then?” he questioned.
Laxman ended his statement with a pointed remark towards the opposition. “You are not able to tolerate that Modi ji will become the PM again,” he said, indicating the political tension ahead of the upcoming elections.
