BJP MP K Laxman Blames Congress Government for Rising Crime After Cow Vigilante Shooting in Hyderabad

Hyderabad, Telangana: Reacting to the recent incident of a cow vigilante being shot in Hyderabad, BJP MP Dr. K Laxman strongly criticised the Congress-led Telangana government, accusing it of allowing a surge in violence and lawlessness across the state.

“I want to ask the Chief Minister and the Congress government — how did gun culture come into Hyderabad?” Laxman said while addressing the media. He claimed that over 500 murders had taken place in Telangana within just a week, highlighting what he described as a severe breakdown of law and order under Chief Minister Revanth Reddy’s administration.

Condemning the police response, Laxman alleged that authorities were “defending those who do business in the name of cows” rather than investigating the source of the firearm used in the shooting. “Instead of questioning where the weapon came from, the police are protecting the culprits,” he said.

Holding the state government squarely responsible, the BJP leader added, “I hold the Revanth Reddy government responsible for this incident.”

The shooting incident has reignited political tensions in Telangana, with opposition parties questioning the Congress government’s handling of crime and public safety in the state.
