BJP Leader NV Subhash Criticizes Telangana Government Over Rs 70 Crore Allocation for Iftar Party

Hyderabad, Telangana – BJP leader NV Subhash has raised concerns over the Telangana state government’s decision to allocate Rs 70 crore for an upcoming Iftar party, scheduled for tomorrow, despite the state’s reported financial difficulties. Subhash pointed out that the Chief Minister had recently mentioned in a conclave that the state was struggling to cope with funds, making the allocation of such a large amount for a social event highly questionable.

“Today, we learned that around 70 crore rupees had been allotted for the iftar party, which is scheduled to happen tomorrow, March 25… Several people from different zones of life, including Muslims, have been asking the government that when you have a financial crisis, why spend Rs 70 crores?” Subhash said. He emphasized that such funds could be better utilized for activities that benefit a larger section of society, rather than being spent on an event that some view as catering to a specific community.

Subhash further criticized the government for its spending priorities, stating, “The BJP has been constantly demanding from the previous government as well as the Congress government, on what basis public money has been utilized and wasted for the appeasement of certain sections of society.”

The BJP’s criticism comes at a time when issues of fiscal responsibility and the allocation of public funds are being closely scrutinized. The party has called for more transparency and accountability in government spending, particularly when it comes to events like the Iftar party, suggesting that these funds could be better spent on addressing the state’s financial challenges.
