BJP Leader NV Subhash Criticizes Telangana Government Over Iftar Party Expenditure

Hyderabad, Telangana: BJP leader NV Subhash has raised concerns over the Telangana state government’s financial priorities, criticizing the allocation of Rs 70 crore for an Iftar party scheduled for March 25. Subhash pointed out that the Chief Minister of Telangana had recently mentioned that the state was facing financial difficulties, making the large expenditure on a religious event highly questionable.

Subhash stated, “The CM of the state in a conclave said the state is unable to cope up with the funds… Today, we learned that around 70 crore rupees had been allotted for the Iftar party, which is scheduled to happen tomorrow.” He further emphasized that many people, including from the Muslim community, had questioned the government’s decision to allocate such a significant amount for an event when the state was grappling with a financial crisis.

The BJP leader suggested that the Rs 70 crore could be better spent on activities that would benefit the broader public. Subhash reiterated that the BJP had consistently demanded answers from both the current and previous Congress-led governments regarding how public money was being spent, particularly in the context of what he described as “appeasement of certain sections of society.”

This criticism has sparked a wider debate on government spending priorities, with the BJP calling for more accountability in the allocation of public funds, especially during times of financial strain.
