BJP leader Prakash Reddy has criticized Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy’s comments on the Pulwama attack and the role of intelligence agencies, terming them as “irresponsible” and “against national interest.”
Prakash Reddy expressed his concern over the potential demoralizing effect of such statements on the Intelligence Bureau (IB) and the Research and Analysis Wing (R&AW). He emphasized that these agencies are not solely responsible for incidents like the Pulwama attack or surgical strikes.
“These are irresponsible statements and against national interest. His statement on IB and R&AW and any other Intelligence Agency demoralises them,” said Prakash Reddy. He further added, “When you are talking about surgical strikes or Pulwama incident, the IB or R&AW alone is not responsible. Even though those agencies are actively working, sometimes it happens…It’s unfortunate.”
Prakash Reddy also took a dig at the Congress party, accusing it of changing its stance multiple times for the sake of votes. He said, “Congress party changed its colours many a times just for the sake of votes and people know about your political ambition very well…”
The BJP leader’s comments have sparked a new debate on the role of intelligence agencies and the responsibility of political leaders in maintaining the morale of these crucial institutions. The impact of these remarks on the political landscape remains to be seen.
