BJP Spokesperson Rachna Reddy Criticizes Abu Azmi for Withdrawing Aurangzeb Remark

BJP spokesperson Rachna Reddy has slammed Samajwadi Party MLA Abu Azmi for withdrawing his controversial statement on Aurangzeb, calling it a political tactic to evade backlash. Reddy accused Azmi of attempting to justify his remarks by linking them to Congress leader Rahul Gandhi.

“Abu Azmi called Aurangzeb great when history is replete with examples of the violence he inflicted on Indians. Now, Abu Azmi is retreating from his statement, claiming that he was trying to be a big brother to Rahul Gandhi by protecting him from the Assam CM comparing him to Aurangzeb,” Reddy said.

She further alleged that Azmi’s actions reflect the strategy of the INDI alliance, stating, “Abu Azmi is following the INDI alliance’s principle of shoot and scoot.”

Azmi’s initial remarks praising Aurangzeb had triggered widespread condemnation, with BJP leaders demanding strict action against him. His subsequent retraction has done little to calm the political storm, as BJP continues to question his intentions.

The controversy has intensified the ongoing political rivalry between BJP and the opposition alliance, with leaders using the incident to target each other. The debate over historical narratives and their political implications remains a focal point in Maharashtra’s political discourse.

As the war of words escalates, it remains to be seen whether further action will be taken against Azmi or if the controversy will subside with his withdrawal of the statement.
