PM Modi Launches Skill Development Initiatives and PM MITRA Park in Wardha, Maharashtra

In a significant boost to artisan communities and women’s entrepreneurship, Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the National PM Vishwakarma Program in Wardha, where he launched the ‘Acharya Chanakya Skill Development’ scheme and the ‘Punyashlok Ahilyadevi Holkar Women Startup Scheme.’

Highlighting the achievements of the PM Vishwakarma initiative, which has completed one year, PM Modi stressed the importance of empowering artisans through skill enhancement. He stated that these new schemes aim to equip artisans with essential skills and provide women entrepreneurs with the support needed to thrive in their ventures.

The Prime Minister also laid the foundation stone for the PM MITRA Park in Amravati, a project that is poised to revitalize India’s textile industry. PM Modi emphasized the park’s role in creating a comprehensive ecosystem for textile production, which is expected to generate significant employment opportunities and foster local economic growth.

The ‘Acharya Chanakya Skill Development’ scheme focuses on providing artisans with specialized training, enabling them to improve their craftsmanship and market reach. Meanwhile, the ‘Punyashlok Ahilyadevi Holkar Women Startup Scheme’ aims to empower women by facilitating access to resources and support for their startups, encouraging innovation and entrepreneurship.

These initiatives reflect the government’s commitment to skill development and gender equality, aligning with its broader goals of economic growth and sustainable development. By enhancing the capabilities of artisans and supporting women-led businesses, the programs are expected to contribute to a more inclusive and dynamic economy.

As India seeks to strengthen its textile sector and boost local craftsmanship, the PM MITRA Park is seen as a critical step towards achieving these objectives. The Prime Minister’s vision for a robust textile industry promises to benefit both artisans and the wider economy.
