Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan Addresses MoU Signing Event at NIRDPR

Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan spoke at a significant MoU signing event held at the National Institute of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj (NIRDPR) in Telangana, emphasizing the importance of rural development education and its broader impact on the nation.

During his address, Chouhan highlighted the relevance of the courses offered at NIRDPR, noting that they extend beyond personal development to contribute to the well-being of rural communities and the nation as a whole. “The courses here are teaching rural development management. But what you learn is not just for you; you have to work for your village so that the nation also benefits from it,” Chouhan stated.

Chouhan also announced a new academic development, stating that PhD programs will now be affiliated with Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU). “Now your PhD will be done from JNU. The degree will also be from JNU. The JNU has its own importance,” he said. The Minister reassured that JNU’s education system would steer students in the right direction, dismissing any concerns about the institution’s reputation. “Aur JNU tukda-tukda nahi sikhayega,” he added, countering criticisms and underscoring JNU’s commitment to providing quality education.

Additionally, Chouhan announced an MoU with the Indian Institute of Public Administration (IIPA), which he believes will enhance the effectiveness of the educational and administrative programs offered. “An MoU has been signed with the Indian Institute of Public Administration; it would also be useful,” Chouhan noted.

The MoUs signed at the event mark a significant step towards strengthening rural development education and integrating it with prominent academic institutions. This collaboration aims to enhance the capabilities of individuals working in rural development and ensure that their efforts contribute meaningfully to national progress.

As the new academic arrangements come into effect, they are expected to offer advanced learning opportunities and foster a stronger link between education and practical rural development.
