PM Modi Embarks on Diplomatic Tour to Russia and Austria, Aims to Strengthen Bilateral Relations

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has embarked on a significant diplomatic tour to Russia and Austria, marking a strategic effort to enhance India’s relations with these key European nations. In his departure statement, PM Modi emphasized the importance of deepening ties with countries that have longstanding friendships with India.

“Over the next few days, I will be visiting Russia and Austria. These visits provide an excellent opportunity to strengthen our relations with these nations, which share a history of close cooperation and mutual respect,” PM Modi remarked, underscoring the historical significance of the bilateral relationships.

PM Modi expressed his eagerness to engage with the Indian diaspora in Russia and Austria, acknowledging their role in fostering cultural exchange and economic ties. “I look forward to interacting with the vibrant Indian community in both countries,” he stated, highlighting their contributions to bilateral relations.

During his visit to Russia, PM Modi is scheduled to hold detailed discussions with President Vladimir Putin to review and advance bilateral cooperation across various sectors. “I anticipate fruitful discussions with President Putin on all aspects of our bilateral cooperation and on key regional and global issues,” PM Modi affirmed.

India’s Special and Privileged Strategic Partnership with Russia has witnessed significant advancements in areas such as energy, security, trade, investment, healthcare, education, culture, tourism, and people-to-people exchanges over the past decade. PM Modi’s visit aims to build on these achievements and explore new avenues for collaboration.

Following his visit to Russia, PM Modi will proceed to Austria, marking a historic occasion as the first Indian Prime Minister to visit the country in 40 years. “During my visit to Austria, I am keen to meet President Alexander Van der Bellen and Chancellor Karl Nehammer. Austria is a reliable partner of India, sharing democratic values and a commitment to pluralism,” PM Modi noted.

The visit underscores India’s commitment to deepening its engagements with key global partners, promoting mutual prosperity, and contributing to regional and global stability.
