Union Minister G Kishan Reddy Criticizes Congress Over Telangana Movement

Hyderabad – Union Minister and BJP’s Telangana President, G Kishan Reddy, made a strong statement against the Congress party and its leaders, blaming them for the loss of lives during the Telangana movement.

Reddy stated that the Telangana movement, which began in 1969 during Indira Gandhi’s tenure as Prime Minister, resulted in the death of 369 students due to police firing initiated by the Congress party. He further claimed that prior to 2013, approximately 1500 people committed suicide due to the movement.

The Union Minister held Sonia Gandhi, the former Congress President, responsible for these suicides. He argued that Sonia Gandhi did not create Telangana; instead, the people had to snatch it through protests and demonstrations.

Reddy questioned the protocol under which Sonia Gandhi would be invited to a government function, suggesting that if the party wishes to invite her, it should be done at the party’s office. He controversially proposed that she should be felicitated for the alleged killing of 1500 people.

These statements have stirred up political debates, with the Congress party expected to respond soon. The impact of these comments on the political landscape of Telangana remains to be seen.
